In case you weren't in the loop and somehow missed (or lost) one of our
important informational emails, here they are again.

I've attached the latest list of golfers who've signed up.
Some folks have said they plan to play but have not sent an email (use golf@jrrobidapc.com). To avoid confusion, you're not on the list if you haven't sent an email yet -- so, send an email ASAP so we can add you to the list.
? indicates that we've been told there are other people in your group, but haven't been given names yet. Get us names as soon as you can.
Names of the folks who have paid are listed in the right hand column. Note that the deadlines for sign-up and for making payment are fast approaching, so saddle up and get going if your name isn't where it needs to be.
THE DEADLINE FOR SIGNING UP AND GETTING YOUR CHECKS IN IS 6/12 AND THE SOONER THE BETTER SO WE AREN'T SWAMPED AT THE LAST MINUTE. If we're too busy dealing with checks and adding people to the list we won't have time to set up the fun stuff we've all come to love.
MAKE CHECKS FOR $65 OUT TO ME. MEADOW HILLS WANTS A SINGLE CHECK, SO I DEPOSIT ALL YOURS AND GO TO VEGAS -- I MEAN AND THEN WRITE A SINGLE CHECK TO MEADOW HILLS.
The address for checks is:

For what its worth -- I played yesterday and AM NOT a threat to win, though I plan to contend for best looking and having the most fun.

I've paid the bribe (OK, deposit) to Meadow Hills to let us come back
for another Lost Scorecard tournament. The contract says $65 per person.
I think they originally said $64 but increased the fee when they found
out who it was for. So, adjust your budgets accordingly.
We'll get out a list of folks who have signed up sometime tomorrow
probably. If you're planning on playing (and who wouldn't be) make sure
to send an email to Golf@jrrobidapc.com
to let us know if you haven't already done so.

If you're getting yourself all psyched up to come out and play really
good golf -- forget it. This year the low scoring team is getting what
they deserve, one gift certificate for about $4 to share among
themselves. The big prizes are going for the fun stuff. If the low
scorers whine they'll have to sing a verse of the Hokey Pokey at the
post tournament shindig.
As always new recruits are welcomed so long as they know how to have
fun and how to drive a golfball onto the green .... for a hole they're
not playing. So feel free to draft anyone who qualifies and get them on
the list.
That's all for now. I don't want to overload and confuse this group
(or myself) with too much info.
Happy Putting
Randy

Subject: Mark Your Calendars
OK, I admit it -- I've been lolly-gagging (sp?) for too long, but I
just got off the phone with Meadow Hills and we're on the calendar for
Friday, June 25 around noon or 1:00. Mark your calendars, clean your
clubs and start practicing.
Its $64 (same as last year I think) for the whole dang package,
including range balls, but not including food and refreshments.
I'll follow up with more details. For now just remember:
- put it on the calendar;
- start saving your pennies;
- see if you can find anyone who's willing to be in the same 4some
with you;
- (you don't need a 4some to play -- we like 3somes, 2somes and
1somes too);
- send emails to Golf@jrrobidapc.com
(and nowhere else) to let us know if you're going to Cowboy up and play;
- don't wait until you know if you're entire dream 4some is going to
make it before sending emails -- let us know as soon as you can work up
the courage to commit to an afternoon of golf, beer and comradery (I
know its scary, but you can do it).
More later.

Subject: IMPORTANT!! GOLF TOURN. UPDATE!!!
Ok, its not THAT important, but I wanted to get everyone's attention.
I've attached a list showing who's signed up and who's sent checks so
far (see List). We're working with a new Golf Tournament Coordinator, Barb Cohen (well, she does pretty much all the real work, I'm just a figurehead), so, please be kind and send an email telling us if you're going to play (go ahead and send it, you know you can't resist) and send your checks ASAP so that Barb isn't swamped at the last minute.
If you've signed up or sent a check and its not reflected on the list, let us know.
If you're not on the list yet simply because you're a slacker we feel that you're a perfect fit for our tournament, but still need you to get off your practice range and send in emails and checks soon!!
As always, feel free or even compelled to recruit more golfers. Just remember that they must be able to fork over $64 and have fun on a golf course (without getting us all barred from future play) to be acceptable candidates for the tournament.
PS Remember to send golf emails to Golf@jrrobidapc.com

3d Annual Lost Scorecard Golf Tournament
OK golfers (you know who you are), we've been cleared for departure from the 1st tee at Meadow Hills starting at 1800 hours zulu time (that'll be noon at Meadow Hills) on Friday June 26th. The deposit's in and there's no stopping us now (as if we could have been stopped before). As far as you know the manager did not say, "Oh ##%, not you guys again" when I went in to make the deposit. (Just kidding, they actually like us out there. Imagine that.)
As always, serious golf will be tolerated (sort of), but not rewarded. We're going to stick with the historic (over 2 years old) scramble format. Everyone hits off the tee and after that all hit from the spot of the best previous shot. We'll have time to stand around together, drink refreshing beverages and give each other a hard time about our golf games, wardrobe, love lives, golf cart driving skills, and on and on. So, pick your playing partners carefully.
As always we'll mix and match to make up the foursomes, but will do our best to
accommodate those who sign up as group (no guarantees). If you want an early or late tee time we'll try to arrange it, but again cannot make any promises. Well, we could make all kinds of promises. Keeping them is another thing.
We're keeping the Yellow Cards and nicknaming requirement, and the skips
across the water and closest to the edge of the green holes. Of course, as usual we'll
tweak the rules to keep things interesting.
The cost has gone up a whopping $2 again, so find something you can sell from the garage to make up the difference. Some of us might consider our putters for example. The total is $64 per golfer. That'll get you 18 holes of golf with cart and a chance to hang out with the other goofballs on this mailing list. Food and beverages are on your own, unless of course you're really good at skipping your ball across the water, in which case you could win a free beer.
Start getting your names and checks in now, so that we avoid a big rush right before the deadline (June 15th). If you know you want to play, send an email saying so, with your name and the names of anyone else you're playing with, now. I'll put a list of golfers on the "Golf Tournament" link on my office website (www.jrrobidapc.com), so that everyone can confirm names and payments as we get them. If your sending an email with names of golfers put OFFICIAL TOURNAMENT ENTRY in your subject line so I know what it is.
Make the checks out to R. Robida and make sure to get them to me at your earliest convenience (and definitely before the June 15 deadline). They'll go into my office trust account (I promise) for payment to Meadow Hills. Send them to the address at the end of this email and write "Golf Tournament" in the memo so I don't think its for legal fees and spend the money on a new driver.

3d Annual Lost Scorecard Golf Tournament
Just a quick note to say that in spite of any rumors you may have heard, I have not forgotten, though I haven't been as on the ball as I should've about an event of this importance.
The 3rd Annual (who'd a thunk it) Lost Scorecard Golf Tournament is scheduled for Friday, June 26. We've decided we should try to have fun again this year (someone has to make the tough decisions). So, mark it on your calendars, start thinking about pranks to pull on the other golfers, and, in general, start thinking about preparing to plan to get ready for some golf.
More to come, I've got to keep this one kinda short (it is April 13th, and I am a tax guy after all).
Randy

Subject: Thanks for Golfing
Thanks to all who came out for the tournament or refreshments after. It looked like everyone enjoyed themselves, even those of us who simply could not hit a golf ball for 9 holes or so. After the way I played I have concluded that I am a genius for going with the
scramble format.
Thanks also to those who stayed around for prize announcements and other post tournament matters (refreshments). My apologies for failing to set aside gift certificates for the team with the worst score - poor planning on my part. We'll correct that next year. Also, my apologies to Bob Hephner, who dropped off some nice hats and golf balls to give away as prizes. The hats and golf balls sit in my tournament briefcase as I write this email. They will go into next years tournament redwell.
We will send out an email listing all the prizes and make arrangements to get prizes to the folks who had to leave before we handed them out Friday.
Finally, many, many thanks to Anaiah - we could not put on the tournament without her hard work; and, to her husband, Justin, who voluntarily helped out all day.
Thanks again. It was fun. Sure glad I could make it to the tournament this year.

Subject: Get moving goofballs
OK, I know that everyone is reeeaaaaallly busy, and that the tournament email list intentionally includes a lot of folks who are fairly laid back, and not likely to get too worked up about responding to emails, BUT, there's no excuse for putting off the really important things in life, and the Lost Scorecard Tournament is a REALLY IMPORTANT THING IN LIFE. So, for those of you who haven't sent an email saying you wouldn't miss it for anything (well, anything you have a realistic chance of getting), GET MOVING and send that email.
We're assembling the list of golfers and don't really want to have to do all the work at the last minute. Besides, there's no telling how badly we'd mess up the foursomes under that kind of time pressure. So, get those emails in if you're thinking you'll be there (and, where else would anyone rather be?).
Now that Apr. 15th has come and gone I'll be getting a few more emails and updates out. Use
golf@jrrobidapc.com for golf related emails. And, as always, let us know if you have a fun idea for the tournament.

Subject: Second Annual Lost Scorecard Golf Tournament
OK Boys & Girls,
It's time to start thinking about golf (as if there's a time you shouldn't be thinking about golf). The second annual Lost Scorecard Golf Tournament is set for Friday, June 27, at Meadow Hills Golf Course. Once
again, good golf will be tolerated, but not rewarded. It will be the same format as last year, likely with a few modifications to make it even more fun (as if that's possible).
The cost has gone up a whopping $2 this year, so adjust your budgets accordingly. $62 gets you 18 holes, with cart and prizes for deserving golfers. No food or refreshments. Well, we may get some help there, but for now you'll have to handle that part yourselves. For those of you inclined to call or email asking how much it is and what's included, just read the previous 3 sentences as many times as it takes to figure out the answer.
Note that as things develop I'll try to put updates on the Golf Tournament link on my website,
www.JRRobidaPC.com, so you can check there for updates.
For now:
1. Put the date on your calendar;
1(a). OK, I forgot and had to go back to add this one. Email me at golf@jrrobidapc.com
to let me know if you think you'll be there.
2. Start organizing your foursomes (or threesomes, twosomes and onesomes - we'll mix and match as needed);
3. Start delivering pizza or doing whatever you need to do to scrape together the cash;
4. Get out there and recruit - more golfers is good, but only if they can be talked into having fun, playing golf and drinking beers, all in the same afternoon. (OK, drinking beers is not required, but certainly approved.)
Deadline for getting your names, groups and $ to me will be June 10th. Send golf tournament related emails to
golf@jrrobidapc.com.
Finally, if you can't play golf you can make up for it by showing up for a refreshing beverage or two anyway.
